What’s Going On? by Marvin Gaye
via Autry Fulbright
I was walking around Oslo Norway in the middle of the afternoon in early spring about 7 years ago. I remember the weather being pleasant and sky being a mix of gold and grey as the unmistakable saxophone intro and Marvin’s voice filled the Norwegian air. You could easily describe the song in the same manner I remember the sky that day- gold and grey. Romantic yet sad at the same time.
This song has resonated with me now more than ever, but in that moment in time it simply made me fill closer to home and realized that the best songs are timeless and resonate with everyone regardless of the place. For those few minutes I felt in love with life and equally in awe of the music’s reach and it’s ability to take me back to another place and time.
I have dedicated my life to making cool shit happen with my friends.
